The Details

The Rings
Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by The Rings, a striking outdoor audio-visual sculpture that responds to their presence with dynamic light and sound.

As they move through the activation, audio clips of Do Good community members describe their journeys and how they “do good,” prompting visitors to reflect on how they, too, might make an impact. This interactive, evolving installation creates a direct connection to Do Good’s mission, emphasizing the real-world impact of the students’ efforts.

Do Good Icon
A bold, three-dimensional “Do Good” sign at the entrance of the Plaza invites visitors to pause and engage in a moment of collective inspiration. This signature element serves as a reminder that doing good is not just an individual pursuit but a shared endeavor, a call to action for all who encounter it.

Students Change the World
Inside Thurgood Marshall Hall, the Students Change the World exhibit features stories of Do Good affiliated students and alumni who have launched successful social impact projects. Interactive, life-size touchscreen displays allow visitors to engage with storytellers, learning about the challenges, triumphs, and lasting impacts of these student-led initiatives.
“Doing good for society has become a part of the Terrapin spirit. Terps are ready to be the next generation of leaders for social impact and change.” He calls the rings an "entryway" to UMD's vision, inspiring visitors to see themselves as part of a community that is committed to making a difference.
